The editorial structure of the Global Journal of Economics & Financial Management (GJEFM) has been designed to uphold the highest standards of academic publishing. Each role within the editorial framework contributes to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and quality of the journal’s review and publication process.
This page defines the responsibilities of all editorial members in accordance with COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers and Editors, Elsevier’s Best Practices, and the DOAJ Principles of Transparency.
1. Editor-in-Chief (EIC)
The Editor-in-Chief oversees the entire editorial and publication workflow and ensures the journal’s adherence to global scholarly standards.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the journal’s academic direction.

Ensure that all editorial policies follow COPE, DOAJ, and ICMJE guidelines.

Final authority on editorial decisions, including acceptance or rejection.

Manage ethical issues, academic disputes, and appeals.

Ensure timely peer-review processes and publication schedules.
-
Supervise the editorial team and maintain high-quality standards.

Represent the journal in indexing applications, conferences, and partnerships.
2. Managing Editor
The Managing Editor supports the EIC and oversees the journal’s operational efficiency.
Responsibilities

Coordinate submissions, communications, and workflow between authors, reviewers, and editors.

Conduct preliminary checks (formatting, plagiarism screening, scope evaluation).

Ensure timely review cycles and follow-up with reviewers and editors.
-
Oversee proofreading, typesetting, and final publication processes.

Maintain documentation, compliance, and archiving procedures.
3. Associate Editors / Section Editors
Associate Editors specialize in specific subject areas and handle manuscripts aligned with their expertise.
Responsibilities

Conduct detailed initial evaluations on assigned manuscripts.

Select qualified reviewers based on subject expertise.

Monitor the double-blind review process for fairness and quality.

Provide recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewer reports.

4. Editorial Board Members
Editorial Board Members contribute subject-matter knowledge and review support.
Responsibilities

5. Reviewers (Peer Review Panel)

Assign DOIs, XML metadata, and digital archiving through Crossref or equivalent services.
8. Ethics & Compliance Officer
Ensures the journal maintains strict adherence to international publishing ethics.
Responsibilities

Monitor ethical compliance across all submissions and publications.

Manage plagiarism checks, authorship disputes, and corrections/retractions.

Ensure policies follow COPE, ICMJE, and DOAJ transparency standards.

9. Advisory Board
The Advisory Board comprises eminent scholars providing guidance for long-term strategy.
Responsibilities

10. Responsibilities of Authors (for alignment)
